An answer to the article entitled, ALKALINE WATER: Healthy or Harmful—Dr. David Friedman (his own Health Blog, Mar. 8, 2021)

This article was written by a very highly respected doctor with credentials in all fields relating to natural remedies, treatments, diagnosis, prognosis, et al. His credentials are not in question in my response to his article. What is in question is what reasoning did he use to draw his conclusions.

In the first paragraph it is obvious his target was the company which brought “electrolysis” into our vocabulary for something other than hair removal. It is Kangen. His article, using “alkaline water” as the culprit, was really talking about water electrolysis (WE)—a totally false manner of attempting to improve the quality of water we all need for our survival, let alone our best possible health. WE or Kangen, uses the process of taking tap water, slightly filtering it, then some form (all their own) of electricity going through fancy equipment temporarily raises the pH of the water passing through, even to the extent that an individual can (by the amount of electricity used) regulate how high up the pH scale a person may want it. The good doctor points out the human stomach has an acid reading as low as 2 pH and drain cleaner is as high as 14pH.

So, Dr. Friedman correctly identified that WE system as being an enemy to good health, not an asset for it. But, his limitation which forms his opinion of “alkaline water” leaves completely out of the discussion the manner of producing “Water the Way It’s Meant to be!”—the Blue Jug way. Here’s what we all need to be saying differently than the Dr. or Kangen:

  1. There is absolutely no electrolysis (WE) used in our water! There is nothing about electrolysis water that can be called natural.

  2. Filtering out any and all chemicals or chemical compounds is a must to find a way to cause any water be in a natural state. However, we are removing effective minerals when we reduce water back to being H2O. (Separating bad totally dissolved solids from good ones is not possible with simple filtration.)

  3. Our system, as you all know, slowly adds back valuable minerals content for making our water as healthy as can be produced. With nothing more than the pressure remaining after reverse osmosis, we allow the “ro water to flow over minerals to make the best possible water with alkalinity (between 8.5 and 9.5 is decidedly the normal optimum drinking water.)

  4. Dr. Friedman referred to “regular water”—might be fairer if he had described his reference. If he was calling “tap” water regular, then he would be admitting the chemicals will be alright for the human body. I don’t think he thinks that.

  5. He remarks about “spring water” as though it would always be better. He’s right about true water from a spring source being 7.8, but most “springs” are false and/or been filtered down to a slight acidic content. Hence, it isn’t natural, either.

Still , though missing the point of how we make our water to be “Water the way it’s meant to be,” Dr. Friedman is right to attack the electrolysis water industry, which is bigger than just Kangen. But, as we’ve often seen for the last 8 years, his type of examination just don’t seem to see us (we’re not on their radar) or the difference between natural vs. electric process.

YET WE KNOW BLUE JUG ALKALINE WATER AND HEALTH MARKETS HAS “WATER THE WAY IT’S MEANT TO BE!”
